The Consultation and Patch Test

A semi-permanent makeup consultation typically consists of a discussion about your desired look and expectations. During this meeting, your skin type will be assessed, facial features, and we will test for any allergies or sensitivities. We will also explain the procedure, discuss aftercare, and address any questions that you may have to ensure they feel comfortable and informed before proceeding. These appointments are at least 48 hours before your main appointment.

First Appointment

Your main appointment includes brow mapping, numbing and the SPMU procedure. We will create a shape that suits your face and enhances your natural features with detailed measurements, either standard mapping or hair stroke mapping. We will then choose the perfect colour to suit you. You'll then be numbed for around 20 minutes and then the procedure can start.

Time: 2 hours 30 minutes

Aftercare

After your appointment you'll be given an aftercare pack to care for your new brows or lips. It's important to follow this to get the best results. It normally involves keeping the area dry for a few days. However, aftercare will be tailored to your skin type.

Healing time: Approx 2 weeks

Top Up Appointment

After your brows or lips have healed, they will require a top up to restore the pigment lost during healing. This appointment is normally 6-10 weeks after your first appointment. At this point, it is totally normal to have fading and loss of colour. At this point, we can change colour if needed and add extra detail. It is important to remember SPMU is a multi-step process. On some occasions further top ups may be needed.

Long Term Aftercare

SPMU is low maintenance however there are some steps you should take to get the best long-term healed results. Including the use of SPF daily to protect the implanted pigment.

Time: Ongoing period

Annual Top Up

SPMU fades gradually, to keep them looking fresh you can maintain them every year. They must have faded a significant amount before we can refresh them. When booking, you can send over a photo to confirm you are suitable to have them refreshed. It's a one off appointment and does not require a top up.
